Amazing Annuals

At Griffin’s we grow 90% of the annuals we offer for sale.  We offer a wide variety of choices in a variety of pot sizes.  Our most popular annuals are specialty annuals grown in either four or six inch pots.  These consist of hundreds of varieties including bacopa, verbena, torenia, nemesia, scaevola, coleus, begonias, impatiens and many others.  We strive to include both the newest varieties and the tried and true favourites in an effort to please all clients who appreciate our dedication to quality.  Our display greenhouse is dedicated to Container Gardening offering a full selection of choice and colours.

Sample Patio Planters, Hanging Baskets and Window Boxes sit nearby and our friendly staff are always on hand to offer planting or design advice. In our outdoor sales areas, marigolds, petunias, salvia, impatiens, portulacca and many additional varieties are available by the box or tray for mass planting. From pansies in early spring to fall garden mums, we strive to offer unique selections for your four season gardening needs.

Perfect Perennials and Vigorous Vines

In our cold frame greenhouse we grow a hardy selection of perennials that are appropriate for our zone, zone 5.  Ann and her staff source out  hundreds of traditional varieties such as cone flower, rudbeckia, hosta, lilies, grasses,  heuchera, phlox, and dianthus. Added to this traditional mix of perennials, all planted in one  or two gallon pots for optimum root development, are the hottest new perennials varieties: Big Sky Cone Flowers™, Luna Hibiscus™, Proven Winners™ selections, and Broadway Lights Leucanthmum™, just to name a few.

Our vine selection includes Virginia Creeper, Golden Hops, Honeysuckle, Climbing Hydrangea and many varieties of Clematis.  All of our vines are vigorous, healthy plants grown in one gallon pots.   Our selection of Clematis varies throughout the season and we encourage you to put in a special request or check with us often for new varieties. Great Garden Accents

At Griffin’s we have two garden shops, each with a different theme. Our “Blockhouse Store” is a small carriage house-like building that originally housed a meat market in the 1930’s. Now it is used as a location for our extensive selection of containers for indoors and out.

Our “Pot Shoppe” includes small and large containers in plastic, ceramic, clay, resin, fibreglass, heavy-duty Styrofoam, cast  and wrought iron. We buy containers with an eye for decorative and functional needs. Part of the product mix in this store includes

a collection of accompaniments for container gardening: plant dollies,watering systems,fertilizers, water retention trays, moisture additives and much more.

In our renovated “Barn Store” we offer a unique product mix geared to outdoor garden décor. Recently we have introduced a series of iron bicycles that are planters, available in four designs and a beautiful and functional series
of outdoor clocks and weather meters.  We also stock a large range of wall décor in iron, tin, painted tiles and cast iron.  The barn is bursting with unique items that are often one-of-a-kind.  Our garden centre is a great location to find a gift or personal purchase that is decidedly different.
